Hope you’ll join us!
How we got started
Several of us take Kangoo classes at the FFC in Lincoln Park … and basically, we’re addicts. In September we started throwing around the idea: What if we created a Kangoo group outside of the gym so anyone could join? We wanted to take more classes, and Kangoo is only offered 2x a week there.
So, we thought…why not start our own classes??
We started the hunt for a gym space to rent out because it’s a shame that it’s not offered much of anywhere! We are still currently searching for spaces to jump and trying to accommodate everyone’s schedules the best that we possibly can. Ideally, the bigger we get, the more times per week we can meet and the more individual schedules we can accommodate…
Who leads the class?
Marcus, whom you may have attended a class with or met @ FFC, has been certified in Kangoo for over a year now and will be leading most of the classes. He’s great and plays awesome music, not to mention everyone can suggest and/or bring whatever they want us to play.
If you’re interested in leading a class or want to contribute some music, please contact us.
How much does it cost?
We would like to be able to offer rented boots at a low cost so that newcomers can try before they buy. However, we’re still sorting through the details. Until then, we cannot provide boots, so you would have to bring your own pair. If you don’t already own a pair of Kangoo Jumps, and would like information on purchasing them, click here.
We rent out a studio on an hourly basis. It costs $10/person to attend a class (cash only at this time). For more info about when and where we meet, check out our schedule.
One more very important thing -
If you haven’t already, please join the Meetup.com group, which keep us all in the loop!
You can suggest days/times to meetup and keep up with when we schedule the next class; the meetup site makes it coordinating much easier. You can even sign in with your Facebook login, so you don’t have to create a new profile. You can also access our meetup calendar through the Schedule page.
